Hi.

Postby goldmedallyunz » Sun Jun 17, 2007 4:47 pm

I'm Josh. I was born in 1982. I grew up with a lot of Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, and Blackadder on my TV. And of course, things like the Simpsons. Then Father Ted (fecking hilarious!). The 'Burbs has been my favourite movie since I was around 9. Reaching post-adolescene I became rather disillusioned with the state of most televised comedy. Then Mr Show came along, renewing my enthusiasm for the medium. I was obsessed with it for a good couple years. It actually reflected to a surprising degree my own comedic sensibilities. Years passed and the show still mostly stands up although some elements have definitely "lost their lustre". I remain a loyal fan of Odenkirk whenever I see him pop up anywhere, except Melvin Goes to Dinner was kind of a drag and I haven't seen his other directorial efforts. David's stuff has been kind of hit-and-miss for me as well, although I'm probably pretty much alone on that. I'm one of the only people I know who thinks Arrested Development was very overrated. So yeah, comedy sucked there again for a while, aside from the occasional good stand-up, like Mitch Hedburg or Jim Gaffigan. So TGTTM comes along and blows me fricken' mind. Everything about it seemed perfect to me. Tim & Eric's output makes me very happy. Especially Joy Peters. She is an amazing character. Tim & Eric Awesome Show Great Job continued to blow me fricken' mind. I recently finished watching the first season and the sheer dementedness of that program makes me want to rejoice to the heavens. It seems like it's everything that I've ever wanted comedy to be; the perfect next step in its evolution. SUUUUPERB.

Anyway, Hi! How does everyone else here trace back their comedic interests?

Love,
Josh

I can watch it over and over again and never tire of it. So ahead of its time. I still can hardly believe it was even made. Damn near ever line of dialogue in that movie is heavily quotable.

Well, in regards to Tim and Eric, my brother sent me a youtube video of this really gross-looking guy singing a Christmas version of Camptown Races, then vomiting all over himself. And the rest, they say, is history.....

As for me, I'm relatively new, so I'll introduce myself. I'm Sarah, I'm 23, I'm from southern Utah. I study paleontology, so if y'all have questions about dinosaurs you've been itchin' to ask someone, I'm your gal!

I fear bumping threads when no one's posted in them for over a week but I thought that I may as well as my lurking has gone on for long enough!
So hello, my name's Sara and I'm 16 from the UK.
I'm kinda bummed that I didn't discover T&E earlier; my first introduction was Calcucorn (having recogonised David Cross) in May as I'd finished school and so could stay up late to watch adult swim. I loved every second of it and thus began my T&E fandom.

Hello. I'm King9. I've been huge Tim and Eric fan ever since a friend showed me Casey and His Brother. I'm 18 and living in MA. These days I'm all about Great Job season 2 and Nite Live and I'm loving both.
I'm a pretty big Lion King fan. In my spare time I study psychology and play some video games.

So yeah, good times.

hello, I'm brenda. I'm 15 and I discovered T and E, on the first episode of Tom Goes To the Mayor on [AS]. I made my friend record some episodes on sunday nights since her satellite played the show at 9pm instead of 12am, then the summer came a I watched it as much as I could. ahh...good times then...good times now. 8-)
I'm also a fan of English stuff. Yeah, another American who likes British comedy. Good stuff though eh? Look Around You!

Hello, my name is Jacob and I'm an alcoholic.

I started drinking around the age of 11...er...wait...wrong forum...

Hi! My name is Jacob! But you can call me businessman of the year for the 2nd straight year (in the Springerton division of Cinco Sales)!

I travel the tri-county area selling Cinco-related products - such as the new 'pre skid-marked briefs for men'. You may have seen our commercial on your television set recently:

"Honey, are those the new Cinco Pre Skid-Marked Briefs for Men with the sleek and attractive pre-stained skid marks running down the back?"

"They sure are!"

"Oh God! Make love to me!"

*Man winks at camera* "Hope you can handle the next 30-seconds!"

I was attracted to the Tri-County area because of it's cutting edge approach to modern business/family related matters.

I am highly disappointed in my family (and especially my son), wildly successful with business related matters, and own a brand new Ford Focus which is 1. a status symbol, and 2. an economical way to travel.

GREAT JOB!

Hi, I'm Carlos, but everyone calls me by my surname, Vela.
I'm from Monterrey, mexico.
And I discovered Tim and Eric thanks to youtube. Because the latinamerican Adult Swim I get really sucks, and everything is translated into shity spanish and they just show a few shows.
The first time I saw something done by Tim and Eric I hated it.
But the second time something strange happened and made me addicted to everything they do.
Now I need to have a daily fix of Tim and Eric.
...This is my signature... Enjoy...
